Announcing Fabric8 Geek Chic Finalists!

Today Spoonflower announced the 8 finalists for the Geek Chic Fabric8 Contest! I want to shout out a big Congratulations to the finalists!

You can find their awesome designs on Spoonflower or Fabric8:

Sadly, mine did not make it to the top eight. I appreciate everyone who voted for me though! I was just thrilled to have been selected as a semi-finalist from over 750 designs! That's saying something!
Unfortunately none of the other ladies from our "For the Love of Print and Pattern" Facebook group made it to the finals either. Sometimes you just don't know how voting will go! Job well done for all of us!

"I Just Like to Make Things" - New Book by Lilla Rogers

I just received a package in the mail that made my day! It is Lilla Rogers' new book "I Just Like to Make Things".

This whimsical book is packed full of colorful illustrations that are sure to put a smile on anyone's face!

I am in the middle of chapter one so far and am already pleased with what this book contains. I appreciated Lilla's introduction where she lets the readers in on her artistic life's journey. And I am enjoying the fun, unique, creative exercises like "the nail polish color game" and the collage jewelry-making game.

Be sure to stay tuned for more insights into this make-you-happy art book!
